Share of outstanding e-money issued by e-money institutions in West Africa 2020-2022
As of 2022, Côte d'Ivoire had the highest share of e-money issued by e-money institutions (EMI) in West Africa, with a share of roughly 35 percent. Senegal followed, with a share of around 23 percent. Overall, there were roughly 118 million e-money accounts in West Africa, that same year.
